Purpose in Life (ILS in MedInfo)

Have you ever thought about what your purpose in life is?
Why are you living and breathing?
Why are you still here?
I think most people have asked themselves
with those kind of questions at one point in their lives.
But what is the meaning of purpose?
According to Backen, purpose can guide life decisions,
influence behavior, shape goals,
offer a sense of direction and create meaning.
But how will you live if you do not know what your purpose is?
Do we really need a purpose to live?

Since we were young, we were told that we all have a purpose in our life.
Whether it is helping or taking care of others such as our family and friends,
being in a religious organization, or others like these.
People do not have the same purpose in their lives.
We can say that an individual’s purpose is unique.
There may be similarities but it may not be exactly the same with other people’s purpose.

But why do we need to have a purpose?
Is it really important?
For me, my answer would be yes.
If we don’t have a clear purpose then
we can not set the right goals and plans
that we want to happen in our lives.
Also, if we do not have the right goals then
we might not make the right decisions.
We should be aware of what is our main purpose
or what is the reason why we want to do something
before we take action in doing it

You need to know the reason why you do everything you do.
You can find your purpose in things that makes you happy.
Whether it is your hobbies or whatever you want to do.
Our purpose should be in-line with what you really like or enjoy doing.
You should choose something that you really want to do,
not what you think you should want or need to do.

Having a purpose in life can sometimes be very pressuring.
People around you may know theirs ever since they were young,
some may know before they graduate,
but some people still have not found one.
But do not worry because you do not get it in just a second
or in just a blink of an eye.
It can also be some sort of a process,
and it will come up to you as you continue to grow and mature as a person.
Some undergo a fast process but there are others who are slow to grow too. But remember that every individual is different.
We all take and have different ways in walking in our lives
but we all have one destination and that is achieving our goals in our lives.

Whatever your purpose is,
whether you already know it
or you are still looking for it,
remember that purpose is a part of our lives.
All we have to do is search for it and try to keep it
once we have found it, then that is the purpose in our lives.
